About AIB

The Main objectives of the Association have been to coordinate the work of biologists in different parts of India; to hold meetings and symposia for discussions on important topics of scientific and technical interest and for presentation of original papers; to publish Annual Reviews of Biochemical and Allied Research (carried out in India), and monographs of special topics in biological chemistry; and to publish a journal when sufficient funds become available.

  13. Exploring and giving recognition/ awards to the meritorious teachers and researchers at different levels.

  14. Contributing to the development of curricula and courses, modules and protocols, etc. for advancement of Biological Sciences.

  15. Establishing a close liaison with National Research Institutes and Industries related to Biological Sciences, and

  16. Undertaking such other tasks as may be in conformity with the objectives of AIB.

  • AIB is a Non-profit and Non-Government organization with the motto to foster scientific research activities in the fields of Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Medical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences and Chemical Sciences for the benefit of society.

  • Biology is a fast emerging  field which has a scope for enormous development in the science frontiers. The pace of new discoveries in biotechnology and nanotechnology, health care and the appearance of whole new fields of endeavor in recent years have made an exciting and challenging task for biologists. Nanotechnology is on its way to make a big impact in Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical and Medical diagnostic sciences. Huge numbers of scientific researchers are focusing on nanoscience and nanotechnology to overcome the existing problem in the field of science and technology.

  • Nanotechnology developments in the medical field over the coming years will have a wide variety of uses and could potentially save a great number of lives. Nanotechnology based new drug therapies not only potential target to diseases besides shown to cause fewer side effects than conventional therapies.
